My life has been full of many sweet moments that I am always deeply thankful for. Topping my list of favorite experiences has to be having witnessed a cherished friend of many years carry her first child while knowing exactly how long and deeply she has dreamed for that exact season of life. In fact, the euphoric feeling I had as I watched my dear friend Lora become more and more overjoyed as her due date approached was very familiar to me. Having the honor to frequently witness many couples anxiously anticipate a wedding celebration that has danced through their dreams across their lives, conjures up the same energy and excitement within that never seems to grow old. The opportunity to channel my excitement into the planning and coordination of Lora’s modern baby boy shower, couldn’t have come at a more perfect time. With a smile that lights up a room and a personality that tends to draw everyone near, she was sure to have an equally inviting baby boy. With that in mind, I chose a palate of crisp white with deep hues of turquoise, orange, and brown accents. These color choices, along with a buffet of homemade scrumptious finger foods and desserts, a sophisticated ‘Bellini Bar’, and a ‘Create Your Own Bib or Onsie Station’, created a fun and relaxed atmosphere that led guests to linger for hours. What’s better than watching a close friend carry her first baby or a young couple anticipate their wedding day? Seeing the new mother hold her newborn child for the first time and a young couple kiss for the first time as husband and wife never fail to fill any person fortunate enough to be close by with an indescribable and uninhibited happiness. Enjoy the photos and a formal introduction to Jake Chambers Weihe!

Doctors Jason and Versan Johnson were the type of clients we live for: crazy in love, joyfully anticipating every part of marriage, beaming with excitement and happiness, and wanting everyone around them to be as overjoyed as they are. You just can’t be around them without feeling exhilarated yourself, which made planning their wedding a delightful experience from beginning to end. Having recently graduated from a rigorous medical school program in the fast paced city of Miami, we knew that the tranquil seaside Safety Harbor Resort & Spa would be the perfect setting for them to celebrate their academic and professional milestone, reunite with their families, and marry. Eggplant and amethyst were the natural choice for colors to be carried across their wedding design and decor as Versan and her bridesmaids look simply stunning in purple. Our design team transformed the Athena Ballroom into a sophisticated reception space with lustrous eggplant linens, jewel toned accents, chic up lighting, stately chiavari chairs, and our luxurious draping. We called on the ever talented Dana Dineen for floral design and Chef Michael for cake design. Both of these esteemed industry artists delivered their typical above and beyond service and talent. Upon return from their fabulous Carribean honeymoon, Jason and Versan relocated to Chicago to embark on yet another paramount adventure…medical residency. We’ve certainly missed them, but trust that they’ll be back for their much needed R & R at their newly cherished Florida retreat. Congratulations and best wishes to this incredibly ambitious and adorable couple!

Here’s a sneak peek at our new profile photos that were made possible by two phenomenal vendors…Divine Light Photography and KyleLynn Weddings. Amber and I had the privilege of being transformed by the highly sought after hair and makeup artist, Cari Collinsworth of KyleLynn Weddings. We were excited to experience first hand why her talent, creativity, and energy never fail to leave any woman feeling ’simply beautiful’. Although it was an extremely hot and humid day, we braved the heat and set out for the University of Tampa’s picturesque campus for a fun-filled photo shoot. Briana of Divine Light Photography greeted us with her typical excitement and infectious smile and of course she was absolutely prepared, having scouted the campus for the perfect locations to lead us to. She has an obvious creative eye and intensity for every project, coupled with an inherent poise that instantly set us all at ease. We already knew in our minds why Cari and Briana have such great reputations for talent amongst industry professionals and our clients, but this experience reminded us of why we just simply love them as people too. Thank you Cari and Briana!

Warning: What you are about to view could cause you to say…”How beautiful!” LaShonda and Daryl’s spring wedding was full of life, love and laughter. After meeting this sweet couple last year, we were delighted at the opportunity to assist in their wedding, floral, and decor design. LaShonda has beautiful taste and chose an elegant yet vibrant palette of lavenders and purples highlighted with tones of green (green cymbidium orchids were her personal favorite) and tasteful gold. Although the ceremony was originally intended for a garden setting, above average warm weather required a move to a covered space. Nevertheless, guests of the happy couple enjoyed an intimate and beautiful ceremony, complete with a rose petal swirled aisle and draped canopy to house the soon to be newlyweds. For the reception, we selected a gorgeous linen in a smoked purple crushed fabric with apple green crinkle taffeta napkins, which were adorned with none other than green cymbidium orchids. The gorgeous backdrop of the Reunion Resort ballroom seemed to fit the theme perfectly. Spring flowers included hydrangea, cool water roses, purple and lavender lisianthus, purple stock, white roses, eggplant calla lilies and cymbidium orchids. Thank you LaShonda and Daryl for the opportunity to be a part of your wedding day. Wishing you all the best!

The opportunity to watch couples become Mr. & Mrs. so often is really a gift! We really do feel we have the best job in the world! When it comes time to celebrate our own family’s life moments: weddings, birthdays, showers, and holidays, you can surely expect that we have to go all out!
Planning Novella’s first birthday party was such a treat. We decided on a lemonade stand theme using shades of pink and yellow. Guests sipped lemonade and ‘Arnold Palmers’ from mason jars with pink paper straws. The Lemonade Bar featured all of the mix-ins and garnishes: raspberries, mint leaves and lemon and lime wedges. We also put together a scrumptious sweets table with cookies, lemon bars, candies and cupcakes. Novella definitely enjoyed her beautiful smash cake, made by her Aunt Tiffany (my sister), while guests indulged in the amazingly yummy strawberry lemonade cupcakes made by Novella’s grandma!
We asked guests to forgo giving gifts and consider a donation to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, an organization that raises money to fight children’s cancer. We were thrilled that our party raised over $300! Guests were sent home with what else but…lemonade mix! Thank you Chickabug on Etsy for the fabulous stationary! I can’t believe our little angel is ONE! Enjoy the photos!

We have a fabulous new client who seems to want to break the mold on any predictable wedding day activities such as the traditional first dance with her groom, tossing her bouquet, and even cutting and serving a wedding cake. Each vendor that we’ve referred her to has had the same response after meeting her, ‘What a fun bride!’ We’ve had so much fun coming up with alternatives that are anything but predictable and know that her guests will also enjoy a break from the traditional wedding day celebration just as much as her vendors will. Recently we began talking about what and how dessert will be served to her guests and although I am going to refrain from divulging our final decision on what concept had her smiling from ear to ear, we thought that we’d share a few of the ideas that were tossed around during our brainstorming session that will surely ignite similar inspiration and uncontrollable grinning amongst our blog readers. Enjoy!
